Well nothing big but I’ve bought myself some new toys the past two weeks or so so I figured they are worth mentioning here. Thankfully they are all basically covered by that $900 K. Rudd payment.
- Audio Technica ATH-A900 TI headphones. These are the crown jewel of my latest buy. Wonderful sounding headphones and I must say I’m really happy with them. Infact they have left me wanting to replace my Sennheisers.
- Fioo F5 Amplifier – A small $18US amp I bought for the hell of it. Really just a toy to try but it may actually be useful for when I’m on the road. Ad like 4 by 4cm it’s pretty minuscule. That said, it’s usefulness is lessened by my…
- Mini 3 audio amplifier – A more serious amplifier which I’ll be using for non portable listening in the office. At around $150AU it’s relatively cheap as far as amplifiers go and apparently is a very good amplifier for the money and can compete with more expensive ones when you disregard features like DAC’s and the like. I could have got it for a bit less as a DIY kit but for the extra $15 I figured I’d get it pre assembled as the amount of electrical products needed to actually perform the soldering would have offset any real price savings.
- iPod LOD – Not a product as such but parts to build a line out. This is purely for the amp as it makes no sense to make use of the iPods amplifier if I have a better one. Thus I will build this myself (sice they are expensive to buy) and hopefully it’ll work out alright. Basically allows me to bypass some of the iPods audio chips.
- Logitech Quick Cam 9000 – New webcam cos I’d like to use Skype and the like a bit and my previous cams are aweful. I love this baby but. May not get used massively but ultimatly something I’ve wanted for a while.
- Logitech G9 – A second G9, this one for work as i don’t like my mice there. I know it’s weird to spend that much on a work mouse but I can take it back home any time I want too so it’s not a complete waste. I use the work comp 8 hours a day so it seems worth it.
- Razer Goliathus Mousepad – For the G9 basically. A no brainer that a mouse pad is much much better than using the desk. I emplore anyone that uses the desk to try using a decent mat for just a few hours. At $20 a mat it’s not exactly expensive either and makes life MUCH better.
