Looking at setting one up for the family. Fun times!
Techy Stuff
Time Off
Next week I’ll be taking a week off work to do precisely nothing. Really looking forward to it as it will be the first significant break since around Feb or so. Not sure what I’ll do, catch up on some games or something I think.
Besides that things are good. Waiting to see how all this iPhone stuff pans out after selling my 3GS in anticipation of the 4G only to hear APple dropped the ball. It’s entirely possible I’ll consider an Android device at this rate. As it is I’ll be buying off contract and I might continue doing that for the foreseeable future given it allows me to sell off and get new devices at a more frequent rate. Given I like new toys it’s something I’m going to consider.
More Sex Toys
Besides the vibrating electrical vagina here’s a few more sex toys I have accumulated over the past month.
- Samsung Series 7 52″ LCD TV: Lovely little bitch this one. Bigger than I had originally intended but the price was good.
- Onkyo TC-SR706 AV Receiver: Again I got a good price I feel on this one. I’m yet to accumulate the speakers but it’s a start. Only just plugged it in tonight and I still need to get at least one more HDMI cable so my existing DVD player hooks up alright.
So yes, with those devices my “controller” collection for downstairs is at 4 remotes and will have at least one extra once I add the PS3 in due course. I think one of the next purchases will be a Logitech Harmony One remote to consolidate those…but only after I let my bank account recover just a little bit. That and I need a second switch, the before mentioned PS3, some speakers + sub etc etc. Should keep me busy. PS3 and Speakers are the priority so I can make fuller use of the TV. Ohh and I want a home theater PC and when it comes out I may get the new iPhone too although at least that’s on a plan.
New Toys – A Story Of Economic Stimulus
Well nothing big but I’ve bought myself some new toys the past two weeks or so so I figured they are worth mentioning here. Thankfully they are all basically covered by that $900 K. Rudd payment.
- Audio Technica ATH-A900 TI headphones. These are the crown jewel of my latest buy. Wonderful sounding headphones and I must say I’m really happy with them. Infact they have left me wanting to replace my Sennheisers.
- Fioo F5 Amplifier – A small $18US amp I bought for the hell of it. Really just a toy to try but it may actually be useful for when I’m on the road. Ad like 4 by 4cm it’s pretty minuscule. That said, it’s usefulness is lessened by my…
- Mini 3 audio amplifier – A more serious amplifier which I’ll be using for non portable listening in the office. At around $150AU it’s relatively cheap as far as amplifiers go and apparently is a very good amplifier for the money and can compete with more expensive ones when you disregard features like DAC’s and the like. I could have got it for a bit less as a DIY kit but for the extra $15 I figured I’d get it pre assembled as the amount of electrical products needed to actually perform the soldering would have offset any real price savings.
- iPod LOD – Not a product as such but parts to build a line out. This is purely for the amp as it makes no sense to make use of the iPods amplifier if I have a better one. Thus I will build this myself (sice they are expensive to buy) and hopefully it’ll work out alright. Basically allows me to bypass some of the iPods audio chips.
- Logitech Quick Cam 9000 – New webcam cos I’d like to use Skype and the like a bit and my previous cams are aweful. I love this baby but. May not get used massively but ultimatly something I’ve wanted for a while.
- Logitech G9 – A second G9, this one for work as i don’t like my mice there. I know it’s weird to spend that much on a work mouse but I can take it back home any time I want too so it’s not a complete waste. I use the work comp 8 hours a day so it seems worth it.
- Razer Goliathus Mousepad – For the G9 basically. A no brainer that a mouse pad is much much better than using the desk. I emplore anyone that uses the desk to try using a decent mat for just a few hours. At $20 a mat it’s not exactly expensive either and makes life MUCH better.
Crystal
Just formatted the primary PC after a few hickups and an ultimate decision that a clean start wouldn’t go astray. Still setting everything up.
